Does your 9600 have weights on the front? I'd rather have a bit more tractor on the front than the minimum. I keep the brake pedals free to help turning in conditons like that just in case. The 9600 was about right in 3 ton alfalfa as far as weight and power. I've run a 1170 with a 9600 Ford and an 8100 JD. If you get in heavy crop and try to maintain some speed with our 16' Haybine (as I like to call them ) it will make the 4255 which I assume by feel has more than the factory 120 hp growl.
